JEan-Eric Gibeau

Kyoshi Jean-Eric Gibeau was born November 1976, in Alexandria Ontario Canada. He attended Iona Academy, Glengarry District High school, as well as St-Lawrence College. On September 19, 1989 at the age of 12, he started training under Sensei Art Levert and Sensei Hubert O'Brian in the art of Chitoryu. In 1990, Shihan Tom Bellazzi, introduced Sensei Levert and Sensei OBrian to Shorinjiryu Kenkokan, at which point, Kyoshi Gibeau began training in Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karate-do. 

On May 8th 1993 Kyoshi Gibeau obtained the rank of Shodan. Kyoshi Gibeau moved to Brockville in 1996, at which point he was studying at St-Lawrence. In 1998, he started training at the Kingston Kobura Karate Club, under Hanshi Bob Cussler, and he remains under his instruction to this day. 

Kyoshi Gibeau was part of the International Koshiki Team which participated in the 2000 World Koshiki Championship in Sydney Australia, as well as the 2003 International Championship in Portugal. As a senior ranking Yudansha, in the Shorinjiryu Kudaka Federation, Kyoshi Gibeau is concentrating his efforts on promoting the art of Shorinjiryu Karate-do and the Kudaka Federation.

Kyoshi Jean-Eric Gibeau est né en novembre 1976 à Alexandria, en Ontario, au Canada. Il a fréquenté l’Académie Iona, l’école secondaire Glengarry District ainsi que le Collège St-Lawrence. Le 19 septembre 1989, à l’âge de 12 ans, il a commencé son entraînement sous la direction de Sensei Art Levert et Sensei Hubert O'Brian dans l’art du Chitoryu. En 1990, Shihan Tom Bellazzi a présenté le Shorinjiryu Kenkokan à Sensei Levert et Sensei O’Brian, à la suite de quoi Kyoshi Gibeau a débuté son entraînement en Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo.

Le 8 mai 1993, Kyoshi Gibeau a obtenu le grade de Shodan. En 1996, il a déménagé à Brockville, alors qu’il étudiait au Collège St-Lawrence. En 1998, il a commencé à s’entraîner au dojo Kingston Kobura Karate Club, sous la direction de Hanshi Bob Cussler, dont il suit toujours l’enseignement à ce jour.

Kyoshi Gibeau a fait partie de l’équipe internationale Koshiki qui a participé au Championnat mondial de Koshiki en 2000 à Sydney, en Australie, ainsi qu’au Championnat international de 2003 au Portugal. En tant que Yudansha de grade supérieur au sein de la Fédération Shorinjiryu Kudaka, Kyoshi Gibeau concentre désormais ses efforts sur la promotion de l’art du Shorinjiryu Karatedo et de la Fédération Kudaka.
