Nanadan (7ᵉ dan) – Karatédo Shorinjiryu Kenkokan

Né le 21 avril 1956, Hanshi Nadeau débute la pratique du Karatédo Shorinjiryu Kenkokan en 1972 sous la direction de Sensei Ngo Duy Giac, un des premiers ceintures noires formés par So-Shihan Masayuki Kukan Hisataka au Canada.
 

En 1982, il reprend le club Bu Sei Kan de Saint-Jérôme avec Shihan Luc Gilbert après le départ de Sensei Giac.

Son engagement dans le Karatédo Koshiki s’intensifie en 1989 lorsqu’il agit comme officiel lors des Championnats du monde à Montréal.

En 2007, il est l’organisateur en chef des 16ᵉ Championnats du monde de Karatédo Koshiki de Montréal, où il participe également en tant qu’arbitre principal et compétiteur. Il en profite pour traduire les règlements internationaux du Karatédo Koshiki en français.

En 2008, il devient co-président de l’Association canadienne de Karatédo Shorinjiryu Kenkokan et Koshiki avec Shihan Luc Gilbert, puis en 2010, il en assume la présidence.
Son expertise l’amène à siéger au comité international d’arbitrage, où il obtient le grade de Master Referee de la WKKF. Il officie lors de championnats internationaux au Japon, en Australie et au Canada.

En juillet 2017, So-Shihan Hisataka lui décerne le titre de Hanshi et le grade de Hachidan (8ᵉ dan) en Karatédo Koshiki, ainsi que Nanadan (7ᵉ dan) en Karatédo Shorinjiryu Kenkokan, faisant de lui l’instructeur le plus haut gradé hors du Japon.

Toujours actif, il rédige en 2024 les règlements de sécurité pour l’Association canadienne et panaméricaine de Karatédo Koshiki.
Aujourd’hui, Hanshi Nadeau continue de présider les associations, de voyager pour enseigner et d’arbitrer les grandes compétitions, transmettant avec passion son savoir aux nouvelles générations.

Born on April 21, 1956, Hanshi Nadeau began practicing Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo in 1972 under the guidance of Sensei Ngo Duy Giac, one of the first black belts trained by So-Shihan Masayuki Kukan Hisataka in Canada.

In 1982, he took over the Bu Sei Kan club in Saint-Jérôme alongside Shihan Luc Gilbert after Sensei Giac’s departure.

His involvement in Koshiki Karatedo deepened in 1989 when he served as an official at the World Championships in Montreal.

In 2007, he was the chief organizer of the 16th Koshiki Karatedo World Championships in Montreal, where he also participated as the head referee and a competitor. During this event, he completed the French translation of the international Koshiki Karatedo regulations.

In 2008, he became co-president of the Canadian Association of Shorinjiryu Kenkokan and Koshiki Karatedo alongside Shihan Luc Gilbert.
By 2010, he assumed the presidency of these organizations. His expertise led him to serve on the international refereeing committee, where he achieved the rank of Master Referee in the WKKF. He officiated at international championships in Japan, Australia, and Canada.

In July 2017, So-Shihan Hisataka awarded him the title of Hanshi and the rank of Hachidan (8th Dan) in Koshiki Karatedo, as well as Nanadan (7th Dan) in Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo, making him the highest-ranked instructor of the style outside of Japan.

Still active, he authored the 2024 safety regulations for the Canadian and Pan-American Koshiki Karatedo Associations.
 

Today, Hanshi Nadeau continues to lead these associations, travel to teach, and officiate at major competitions, passionately passing on his knowledge to future generations.
